Job summary

Kerzner International Management in Dubai’s Bab Al Shams Desert Resort seeks a Team Leader for In Room Dining to join a luxury, guest-focused operation. You will assist the Outlet Manager, manage service flow, train staff and coordinate inventories for a seamless guest experience.

The ideal candidate holds a Hotel/Resto Management Diploma or equivalent, HACCP certification, and 2–3 years in a five-star setting, with initiative, attention to detail and a patient, leadership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Distribute the work for the team, including the need to multi-skill in employees' job requirements.
• Ensure information is passed on to the team (briefings and debriefings).
• Ensure the point of sale is prepared to a high standard.
• Take guests' orders.
• Ensure equipment is used correctly.
• Manage the flow of guests, table placement and reservations.
• Check the quality and speed of waiter service.
• Ensure outlet is managed efficiently according to concept statements.
• Maintain par stocks for operating equipment and supplies; ensure outlet is adequately equipped.
• Assist in monthly inventory checks on operating equipment and supplies.
• Assist in planning festive food promotions within the outlet manager.
• Maintain the Daily Logbook.
• Assist in planning the outlet weekly roster and work schedules.
• Maintain the outlet bulletin board.
• Carry out inventory of equipment monthly/quarterly/bi-yearly/yearly.
• Handle guest inquiries courteously and report complaints if needed; follow up with guests.
• Establish rapport with guests and maintain good relationships.
• Set up of the restaurant; check cleaning and quality of equipment.
• Supervise end-of-day closing of the service area and ensure safety.
• Check the standard and quality of food and beverage leaving the kitchen.

About The Role

Assists the Assistant Outlet Manager and/or the Outlet Manager within the limits of the established Hotel policies and Operational Standards, and provides efficient, personalized, courteous and punctual service.
Works with a team spirit and ensures that each guest leaves the outlet fully satisfied and with the wish to return back.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists in conducting monthly inventory checks on all operating equipment and supplies.
• Assists in controlling the requisitioning, storage and careful use of all operating equipment and supplies.
• Assists in planning and organizing festive food promotions within the outlet manager.
• Maintains the Daily Logbook.
• Assists in planning the outlet weekly roster and work schedules to ensure that the outlet is adequately staffed to handle the level of business.
• Maintains the outlet bulletin board.
• Performs their duties with the maximum efficiency and in the most productive manner.
• Carries out monthly, quarterly, bi yearly, yearly inventory of operating equipment.
• Handles guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be founded and to assure follow up with guests.
• Ensures that the outlet team projects a warm, professional and welcome image.
• Establishes a rapport with guests, maintaining good customer relationship.
• Sets up of the restaurant, she/he must check the cleaning and the quality of all equipment, glassware, cutlery, chinaware, napkins etc.
• Supervises the end of day closing of the service area and makes sure that all equipment is in an appropriate place, and nothing is left around, which can be hazardous.
• Checks the standard and quality of food and beverage which leaves the kitchen.
• Checks extra needs of a guest.
