Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification.

• DBS/police check or equivalent background screening.

Job description

To deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning:

• Clear understanding of the curriculum.
• Organise classroom provision and learning resources, creating displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Plan, prepare and present sessions that cater to the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
• Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching.
• Observe and assess children in line with school assessments.
• Reflect on classroom provision, sessions taught and progress made, and adjust environment, planning and curriculum accordingly.
• Meet with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists, if required.
• Ensure the Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes are embedded throughout the curriculum.

Assessment and Data:

• Takes responsibility for the progress of a class.
• Meets requirements for the assessment and recording of student development using Target Tracker.
• Uses data provided by assessments to influence further planning, provision and intervention.
• Provides feedback to parents and carers on student progress at Parent-Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

Behaviour Management and Duties:

• Follows the school’s behaviour policy.
• Manages classes effectively, using approaches appropriate to students’ needs to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
• Maintains good relationships with pupils, exercises appropriate authority and acts decisively when necessary.
• Acts as a positive role model and consistently demonstrates the positive attitudes, values and behaviour expected of pupils.
• Has high expectations of behaviour, promoting self-control and independence of all learners.

Wider Professional Responsibilities:

• Works as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources and special events linked to that team.
• Supports the organisation and participation in school events, outings and activities that may take place on weekends or in the evening.
• Communicates effectively with parents and carers regarding student achievements and well‑being using school systems such as CPOMS.
• Contributes positively to the wider life and ethos of the school.
• Runs a weekly ECA each term.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification.

Minimum Experience

• 1-2 years of teaching experience.
