Role Context

The Teacher - Curriculum and Student Development will create a stimulating learning environment where students are encouraged to participate, think independently, develop confidence, and make measurable academic progress. Working within Al Ghad Charter School, the teacher will combine curriculum delivery with assessment, classroom management, student safeguarding, parent communication, extracurricular involvement, and collaborative planning. The position contributes directly to the school 's mission of exciting, challenging, and empowering students. By adapting teaching to different abilities and using assessment evidence to guide instruction, the teacher will help ensure that learners receive appropriate challenge, intervention, and support throughout their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver purposeful lessons that encourage students to achieve strong academic and personal outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with teaching colleagues to develop engaging learning activities that meet curriculum expectations and respond to different levels of student ability.
• Organize classroom resources, displays, learning materials, and teaching spaces to create an environment that encourages participation and curiosity.
• Adapt lesson planning and classroom provision according to student progress, assessment evidence, learning needs, and reflective evaluation of teaching effectiveness.
• Motivate students through enthusiastic, imaginative, and well-structured teaching approaches.
• Observe, assess, and record student development in accordance with school assessment procedures.
• Take responsibility for the academic progress of the assigned class and use Target Tracker to support assessment, recording, intervention planning, and progress monitoring.
• Analyze assessment information and use findings to refine future teaching, learning provision, and targeted student support.
• Maintain productive communication with parents and caretakers regarding academic achievement, development, behaviour, and student wellbeing.
• Provide clear progress updates during Parent Teacher Conferences and other scheduled meetings.
• Establish positive relationships with students while applying the school 's behaviour policy consistently and appropriately.
• Maintain high expectations for conduct, independence, self-control, participation, and respect within the classroom.
• Act as a positive professional role model by demonstrating the attitudes, conduct, and values expected within the school community.
• Work with curriculum support employees and specialist professionals when required to address individual student development needs.
• Liaise appropriately with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and other professionals supporting students.
• Embed the school 's Teacher and Learner DNA language, attitudes, and expectations across classroom practice and curriculum delivery.
• Participate in curriculum action groups and contribute to planning, assessment development, learning resources, and curriculum-related events.
• Support school events, educational outings, celebrations, and activities that may occasionally take place during evenings or weekends.
• Use school systems, including CPOMS where appropriate, to communicate and record matters relating to student achievement, welfare, and safeguarding.
• Deliver a weekly extracurricular activity during each term and contribute actively to the wider life of the school.
• Maintain effective relationships with colleagues and work flexibly across the school when educational or operational needs require additional support.

Ideal Profile

• Candidates should hold a bachelor 's degree in the relevant teaching subject together with a PGCE or another recognized teacher qualification.
• A minimum of one to two years of classroom teaching experience is required.
• Previous experience teaching students for whom English is an additional language will be particularly valuable within the school 's diverse learning environment.
• The role requires an educator who is enthusiastic about teaching the whole child rather than concentrating exclusively on academic results.
• A strong commitment to student welfare, safeguarding, professional conduct, and inclusive learning is essential.
