Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Swimming Instructor to work primarily with younger age groups (FS1 to Year 2), helping children build water confidence, develop basic swimming skills, and enjoy physical activity in a safe and supportive environment. The role will also include leading or supporting club swimming programs on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings, which involve various age groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging and age-appropriate swimming lessons for children in FS1 to Year 2.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all swimmers.
  • Monitor student progress and adapt lessons to meet individual needs.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students.
  • Support or lead Club swimming sessions on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings (various age groups).
  • Assist with assessments and tracking of swimming development.
  • Follow health, safety, and safeguarding procedures at all times.
  • Collaborate with other PE/sports staff and contribute to the wider physical education program.
Requirements
  • Previous experience teaching swimming, preferably with younger children (school or club setting).
  • Recognized swimming instruction qualification (e.g., ASA, STA, or equivalent).
  • Valid First Aid and Lifesaving certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a child-centered approach to instruction.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
