The role involves measuring land surfaces, computing areas and elevations, and preparing reports, with the use of GPS units, total stations, and levels. Collaboration with the team is essential to meet project deadlines and client specifications.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• An understanding of mathematical principles used in surveying.
• Proficiency with modern survey technologies such as GPS units, total stations or levels.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team depending on the project’s requirements.

Responsibilities

• Accurately measure the size, shape and contour of land surfaces.
• Calculate the areas, elevations, volumes and other characteristics of surveys.
• Utilize appropriate survey equipment such as total stations, GPS units or levels.
• Prepare detailed reports and sketches by analyzing data collected from surveys.
• Make sure that all data is collected accurately and in accordance with industry standards.
• Ensure accurate records of survey results are kept.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Plan survey projects to ensure they meet legal requirements and client specifications.
