Job summary

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company is seeking an experienced professional to plan, supervise, and execute workshop maintenance, fabrication and repair work to ensure equipment availability, reliability and integrity. The role requires coordinating resources, supervising material control, and ensuring compliance with HSE standards within a large industrial setting.

The candidate should have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in supervising workshop activities,

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of workshop supervision experience in a large industrial setting.
• Experience in oil and gas industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, supervise and execute installation, maintenance, repair and testing of mechanical equipment in workshop and plant.
• Ensure resources availability and safe, timely completion of jobs.
• Review drawings and sketches for work orders and ensure accuracy of specifications.
• Supervise the Tool Store to maintain stock levels and availability.
• Monitor materials, prepare spares and tool requisitions in line with direct charge and stock material needs.
• Ensure compliance with HSE management system and related procedures.
• Provide technical guidance to craft groups and assign tasks with clear instructions.

Job description

Job Purpose

Plan, supervise and execute the workshop maintenance activities, fabrication, and repair work to ensure equipment availability, reliability and integrity.

Job Specific Accountabilities

Maintenance Planning and execution

• Ensure availability of required resources for workshop maintenance and repair, and schedule expectations to complete the job safely and in time.
• Plan, schedule, supervise and execute installation, maintenance, repair and testing of a wide range of mechanical stationary equipment in workshop and plant to ensure equipment availability and safe operations.
• Plan and supervise all piping/structures fabrication and repair of various parts in the workshop and site relating to metal craft, to ensure all the mechanical activities are in full compliance with HSE Management System, Integrity, Operation and Maintenance Procedure.
• Determine extent of work required and priorities and provide technical advice to the various specified craft groups and assign work to subordinates with appropriate instructions.
• Organize and ensure availability of the necessary equipment to carry out the work.
• Inspect / follow up tasks progress and final completion, and provide report to ensure timely and quality job execution
• Review drawings and sketches for work orders, to ensure accuracy specifications, measurements and materials.
• Supervise the operation of the Tool Store to ensure required stock is available at all times.

Materials Control

• Monitor availability of needed tools, equipment, and parts for scheduled jobs to ensure smooth operations.
• Prepare list of spares, tools and materials required for the maintenance jobs and issue the Purchase/Material requisitions. Inspect and confirm that the specifications are in line with the requirement of the received 'direct charge' and 'stock Materials'.

Minimum Qualification

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or any relevant field

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

5 years of experience, relevant experience supervising workshop activities within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry
