Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is looking for a Superintendent for projects and drydocks in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of relevant experience and hold a Chief Engineer Certificate of Competence for LNG or FSRU. Responsibilities include managing project scopes, coordinating with suppliers for timely delivery, inspecting vessels, and ensuring compliance with all regulations. This position may require travel up to 50% and occasional work during unusual hours.

Qualifications

  • Must possess Chief Engineer CoC for LNG or FSRU.
  • Ability to manage budgets and projects.

Responsibilities

Location: Dubai

Tenure: Long Term Contract

Experience in years: 7+ Years

Qualifications & Experience Requirements
  • Chief Engineer on LNG or FSRU (Steam or Engine) Certificate of Competence (CoC)
  • In depth knowledge of SOLAS, Class Rules & applicable Statutory Legislation
  • Sea-going experience on LNG or FSRU as a Chief Engineer.
  • Experience of budget management.
  • Project Management experience.
Accountabilities
  • Projects & Drydocks
  • Develop and prepare detailed work scope for the Fleet drydock and projects, considering regular maintenance, as well as Fleet equipment obsolescence and upgrades, adhering to all statutory and industry requirements.
  • Inspects vessels to confirm the drydocking scope list.
  • Coordinate with Procurement & Supply Chain to secure parts and services timely.
  • Participate in identification and technical evaluation of service providers.
  • Attend drydocking, to manage the specific scopes as assigned.
  • Track daily progress and performance of docking repairs.
  • Acts as a project administrator and coordinate with OEM specialists / Third Party vendors
  • Provide reports, feedback and updates to the management and ensure follow-up on instructions and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives within the drydocking process.
  • Carry out any other duties as directed by the immediate supervisor.

  • Willingness to travel to vessels, facilities, company offices with travel 50% of time.
  • Occasional work during nights, weekends, and / or holidays.

  • Walk or climb structural steel, climb ladders.

  • As required, work outside in all weather conditions
