Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Structures Design Engineer to support the Building Structures team in delivering structural designs across concept to detailed design stages. You will coordinate with architectural, civil, geotechnical and MEP disciplines, ensuring compliance with codes and project requirements.

The role involves QA/QC adherence, mentoring graduates, and contributing to technology development while advancing towards chartered status. A flexible, hybrid work environment is offered.

Qualifications

• Masters with 8-10 years of work experience.
• Strong understanding of finite element analysis.
• Proficient in at least one of the software such as STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE.
• Desirable: AUTOCAD & Revit structures.
• Experience with American & Canadian standards is an added advantage.
• Pursuing chartership from PEng, IStructE, ICE is desirable.
• French language skills (read & write) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs from schematic designs under supervision of senior engineers.
• Produce details/sketches and provide to CAD technicians.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively within the discipline and with related disciplines.
• Manage own time and time of others reporting to them.
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures and project procedures.
• Keep abreast of latest trends and technologies to inform project delivery.
• Check work of graduates, technicians, and administrative staff.

The engineer will assist with the development, coordination, and quality assurance of structural designs across concept, preliminary, and detailed design stages, ensuring compliance with building codes, standards, and project-specific requirements.
