Structured Finance Associate – GCF – Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Full‑time corporate finance role focusing on originating, structuring, analysing, and supporting the execution of vanilla and structured finance transactions for Wholesale Banking clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Support origination, structuring, evaluation, and execution of vanilla and structured finance transactions for Wholesale Banking clients.
- Work with relationship managers, senior finance team members, credit risk teams, and internal stakeholders to assess lending opportunities.
- Assist in pitching, originating, structuring, and executing transactions across corporate banking sectors.
- Support leveraged finance, acquisition finance, project finance, asset‑backed finance, and real estate finance transactions where applicable.
- Analyse proposed deal structures, borrower profiles, business fundamentals, repayment capacity, and transaction risks.
- Develop financing models, including sensitivity testing and scenario analysis.
- Prepare independent reports, transaction summaries, and analytical inputs to support credit and deal decisions.
- Conduct due diligence to ensure proposed transactions are robust, commercially sound, and aligned with bank criteria.
- Assist in negotiating financing terms with borrowers and, where applicable, other lenders.
- Support senior team members during initial borrower discussions and definitive documentation stages.
- Help manage and review the existing loan portfolio to identify new lending opportunities and client expansion potential.
- Review existing client plans and coordinate with coverage teams to identify structured lending and cross‑selling opportunities.
- Provide accurate and timely inputs for internal reporting, management updates, and strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to departmental and coverage team budgets by identifying opportunities for capital markets and banking mandates.
- Support cross‑selling opportunities involving Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Agency, Securities Services, Global Markets, and Transaction Banking.
- Coordinate effectively with internal teams to ensure transaction execution progresses within required timelines.
- Maintain alignment with FAB's risk parameters, governance standards, credit requirements, and strategic business priorities.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in corporate finance, structured finance, wholesale banking, corporate banking, credit analysis, or lending transactions.
- Strong understanding of corporate lending, structured finance products, financial analysis, and credit risk considerations.
- Exposure to leveraged finance, acquisition finance, project finance, asset‑backed finance, or real estate finance is desirable.
- Ability to build and review financing models, perform sensitivity testing, and assess borrower cash flows.
- Good understanding of transaction structuring, due diligence, documentation stages, and internal approval processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess deal viability, risk factors, business performance, and financing structures.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to identify lending opportunities and cross‑selling potential.
- Good communication skills for working with senior finance members, relationship managers, credit teams, borrowers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple transaction workstreams, reporting requirements, and deadlines with accuracy.
- Detail‑focused, proactive, and comfortable working in a high‑performance corporate finance environment.
