Job summary

Wood in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Structural Construction Superintendent to oversee on-site activities for a major capital project valued in the hundreds of millions of USD. You will lead multi-disciplinary field teams, ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence, and manage cost controls in a dynamic oil & gas environment.

The role requires a degree with 15 years of O&G experience, including 5+ years on large projects, excellent English communication, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Degree with minimum 15 years Oil & Gas experience, incl. 5+ years on major capital projects (US$500M)
• Excellent English communication skills; able to travel extensively and adapt to project needs

Responsibilities

• Responsible for construction and contractor related deliverables
• Supervises all areas on small projects or subset discipline on larger projects
• Management and execution of multiple field disciplines in accordance with contract and company policies
• Execution of work to quality standards and project requirements
• Manage project cost and schedule for assigned disciplines or on-site construction
• Coordinate installation, commissioning and completion activities of materials and equipment
• Coordinate field personnel work schedules to maximise utilisation and ensure on-time delivery
• Monitor progress and report against the plan
• Ensure safety, quality and environmental responsibilities are defined and followed
• Initiate safety, quality and environmental processes within control areas
• Utilise commercial processes to capture variations effectively
• Coordinate supply and delivery of equipment, subcontractors and other project-specific requirements
• Understand and manage industrial relations impacting the site
• Work with engineering to influence design for constructability

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Structural Construction Superintendent with multi disciplinary experience and a proven track record in overseeing and coordinating all on-site activities ensuring projects are completed on time within budget and according to quality and safety standards for a high-profile client The key objectives for this role are Assures the quality and integrity of each project bringing projects in on schedule and within budget Using in-house construction management procedures and experience provide continuity and consistency of construction management with quality assurance and reliable control Oversees total construction field effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design specifications budgets and schedules Oversees total construction field effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design specifications budgets and schedules Generally responsible for projects or subset of project with value above USD 500 million

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Responsible for construction and contractor related deliverables
• Supervises all areas on small projects and or a subset discipline on larger projects
• Responsible for management and execution of multiple field disciplines or a subset of assigned construction project s in accordance with the requirements of the contract between the company and the client and in accordance with the company s operating policies and principles
• Responsible for execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and requirements specified for the project
• Manages and controls project cost and schedule of assigned disciplines subset of on site construction
• Management of installation commissioning and completion activities of materials and equipment
• Coordinates field personnel work schedules to maximise utilisation and ensure work is delivered on schedule
• Ability to monitor work progress and report against the plan
• Ensure safety quality and environmental responsibilities and accountabilities have been defined and communicated to workers engaged within their area s of control
• Ensure all workers within their area s of control receive appropriate training to perform their work in a safe legal and competent manner including any Health and Safety and site-specific inductions
• Initiate safety quality and environmental processes within their area s of control including toolbox meetings inspections and the identification assessment and control of risks in accordance with Wood and client requirements
• Manages and controls project cost and schedule of assigned discipline subset of on site construction
• Utilise Commercial processes to capture variations effectively
• Coordinate supply and delivery of equipment subcontractors consumables accommodation and other project-specific requirements in accordance with client contract document specifications and in accordance with Wood Policies amp Procedures
• Understand and manage the industrial relations environment impacting the site and report any issues as required
• Works with engineering in the design phases to influence the design for optimum constructability

Expected:

Degree with a minimum of 15 years Oil and Gas industry experience, including at least 5 years on major capital projects, ( 500 M USD) with Construction Management and Site Management focus Experience within an Oil and Gas operating company is also highly desired and may be considered in lieu of capital project experience Must have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, with a strong command of the English language. Must be willing to travel extensively for multi-week periods and have the flexibility to adjust work location to support project needs Must be qualified to obtain a CICPA and a UAE work visa
