Job Title: Structural Fabricator

Job Overview
The Structural Fabricator will be responsible for reading and interpreting engineering drawings, fabricating structural steel components, and assembling metal frameworks used in construction and industrial projects. This role demands sound knowledge of fabrication techniques, welding processes, cutting tools, and safety standards. The ideal candidate should possess hands‑on experience in metal fabrication and the ability to work with precision under minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication sketches to determine build specifications.
- Cut, bend, weld, and assemble metal components using fabrication tools and machinery.
- Fabricate structural steel parts such as beams, frames, platforms, brackets, and supports as per project requirements.
- Conduct measurements, marking, and layout preparation of materials before fabrication.
- Perform MIG, TIG, SMAW, and other welding techniques to complete fabrication tasks.
- Operate tools and machinery including grinders, plasma cutters, shears, drill presses, and cranes safely.
- Inspect fabricated components for dimensional accuracy and structural integrity.
- Ensure all assembly and welding practices comply with project specifications and safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, welders, and site supervisors for timely project execution.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in compliance with housekeeping and safety protocols.
Essential Qualifications
- High School Diploma / ITI / Diploma in Fabrication, Welding, or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience as a Structural Fabricator in construction, oil & gas, or industrial fabrication projects.
- Certification in welding or structural fabrication is an added advantage.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of structural fabrication processes, welding techniques, and metalworking tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, material lists, and BOMs.
- Expertise in handling fabrication equipment such as cutting torches, welders, and hydraulic presses.
- Proficiency in measuring, marking, and layout preparation for steel structures.
- Knowledge of safety standards and compliance requirements related to fabrication and welding.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high‑precision components.
- Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy metal components.
- Good teamwork, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
