Job summary

Qualifications

• Spreadsheet software skills to quantify and illustrate routine financial reports, comparisons, impacts, and/or projections.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems.
• Ability to supervise and train assigned staff.
• Ability to effectively communicate accounting information, policies, and/or procedures in a manner easily understood by the customer.
• Ability to persuade and influence others.
• Knowledge of current changes and/or developments in applicable laws and university policies.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to analyze processes and make recommendations for improvements.
• Knowledge of university and/or public auditing policies, standards, and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English languages.
• Proficiency in PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the annual internal audit plan based on risk assessment, KPI’s and strategic objectives.
• Prepare monthly or quarterly audit reports on audit findings and make recommendations to improve the University’s internal controls, within the governance system.
• Follow-up the audit findings (observations) with the divisions/departments to ensure that all observations and recommendations are closed and implemented properly.
• Periodically review and evaluate the policies and procedures with financial impacts to ensure compliance with laws and university policies.
• Identify loopholes and areas requiring management intervention to prevent fraud and misused resources.
• Review costing and pricing of university programs and services and provide recommendations to increase profitability.
• Review business proposals and provide management with assessment to facilitate decision-making.
• Liaise with government/external auditors to coordinate activities and avoid duplication.
• Adhere to internal and local information security and health and safety laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Handle any other responsibilities assigned by the line manager.
