Job description

We are seeking experienced and dedicated Fabrication Engineers / Bay In-charges to oversee and manage complex structural steel fabrication activities in our workshop. The ideal candidates will have a strong technical background in Mechanical Engineering, combined with hands-on experience in steel fabrication processes, quality control, and production supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, supervise, and monitor daily fabrication activities to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to production schedules.
  • Manage fabrication bays, including manpower allocation, material handling, and coordination with QA/QC, planning, and welding teams.
  • Ensure fabrication quality meets project specifications, drawings, and international standards.
  • Review fabrication drawings and ensure all works are carried out as per approved shop drawings and procedures.
  • Identify and resolve technical and production-related issues promptly.
  • Coordinate with project engineers, production managers, and site teams to ensure timely delivery of fabricated components.
  • Maintain safety standards and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the workshop.
  • Prepare daily and weekly progress reports and ensure compliance with project timelines.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of solid experience in handling complex structural steel fabrication works in a workshop environment.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of fabrication drawings, welding procedures, and material specifications.
  • Familiar with international fabrication and quality standards such as AISC, AWS, BS, and Euro Codes.
  • Experience with production planning and resource management.
  • Ability to interpret shop drawings and erection sequences.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC processes and fabrication documentation.
