Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is seeking a non-invasive consultant cardiologist to join our expanding division of cardiovascular medicine. The center provides world-class tertiary care and is recognized as an American College of Cardiology International Center of Excellence.

You will monitor patients with complex conditions, lead a clinical team, and contribute to multidisciplinary care, education, and research while upholding high standards of practice in a culturally diverse environment.

Qualifications

• MD/MBBS/MBChB and a recognized non-invasive cardiology specialty qualification.
• Board certification in Non-invasive Cardiology is required.
• Internationally recognized qualifications (e.g., USA ABC/CCT/CCST, UK CCST) are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and provides care to patients with serious chronic illness.
• Prescribes medications, therapies, and other care to manage conditions.
• Discusses care goals and test results with patients.
• Performs or oversees non-invasive cardiology procedures as appropriate.
• Collaborates with Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi staff to ensure quality patient care.
• Participates in committees and quality improvement initiatives.

JOB SUMMARY

The division of cardiovascular medicine is seeking applicants for a non-invasive consultant cardiologist to join our growing section. The cardiovascular disease section at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi provides world class comprehensive tertiary cardiovascular care and is an American College of Cardiology International Center of Excellence recently ranked the 1 hospital for Cardiology by Newsweek in the Middle East North Africa region.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitors and provides care to patients at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi with serious chronic illness
• Prescribes or administers medication, therapy and other specialized medical care to manage or palliate disease and symptoms
• Facilitates conversations with patients regarding patients care goals and preferences
• Analyzes records, reports and test results to diagnose patients medical condition
• Interacts with patient to gather additional history and information about medical condition
• Explains procedures and discusses test results or prescribed treatments with patient
• Provides specific treatments and or performs operations to treat patient medical conditions
• Evaluates patient and records applicable notes about patients condition for purposes of serving as a record of treatment and or making a possible referral to another member of the health care medical staff team
• Liaisons with other medical and non-medical staff at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi to ensure quality patient treatment
• Supplies and provides care in a culturally appropriate and sensitive manner
• Follows ethical and regulatory guidelines
• Takes part in administrative functions that ensure the continued operations of the clinical environment such as committees, task forces and performance improvement measures
• Adheres to individual approved clinical privileges as well as to all policies and procedures of the Medical Staff

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• For Physicians from Tier 1 countries, not less than two (2) years additional experience post qualification
• For Physicians from Tier 2 countries, not less than five (5) years additional experience post qualification
• Must hold a valid License/ Registration to practice in their home country and/or country of last employment (where applicable)
• Board certified in Non-invasive Cardiology
• Should meet the Maintenance of Certification requirements (where applicable)
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a team of health care professionals
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff
• Ability to speak and write in English is required

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Applicants must hold an MD, MBBS, or MBChB degree and have completed a recognized specialty qualification in non invasive cardiology in accordance with the Recognized Specialty Certificate table outlined in the DOH PQR. https://www.doh.gov.ae/en/pqr
• Applicants holding internationally recognized specialty qualifications, such as American Board Certification (USA), CCT or CCST (UK), Royal College Certification (Canada), Facharzt (Germany), Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College (Australia), or equivalent recognized qualifications, are preferred.
