Job summary

EDGE, based in Abu Dhabi, seeks a Senior Specialist, Testing & Evaluation (Land & Maritime) to plan and execute high‑stakes land and maritime trials. You will mitigate risks, coordinate with clients, regulators, and project teams, and drive safety and compliance across the test lifecycle.

You will apply systems engineering principles and TT&E expertise to deliver rigorous evidence-based evaluations for clients in the UAE and beyond.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related fields is required.
• At least 5–7 years of Defence experience, preferably military background.
• At least 5 years of TT&E range planning and evaluation experience or similar.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of Weapon Danger Areas.
• Fluent in written and verbal English.
• Experience planning/coordinating land and/or maritime tests/trials.
• Understanding of safety principles, range management practices and regulatory requirements.
• Strong data capture, instrumentation, and planning methodologies.
• Excellent communication, client management and organizational skills.
• Strong managerial abilities with a safety/compliance focus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to plan land and maritime tests/trials.
• Assist with client engagement to understand risks and desired outcomes.
• Assist SME with planning and deconfliction of complex tests.
• Ensure risk mitigations are applied to all tests.
• Plan and implement NtMs and NOTAMs per customer requirements.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities to mitigate risks and ensure UAE safety compliance.
• Document test procedures, results, observations and recommendations.
• Assist in development and review of project documentation.
• Conduct research to stay updated on field changes.
• Participate in audits as required.
• Maintain a risk assessment database.
• Develop the Xrange risk management framework.
• Manage Hot-Wash-Up and After-Action-Reviews after tests.

ABOUT THE ROLE

REMAYA helps our clients verify and validate the performance of their platforms and systems through rigorous test and evaluation practices. We apply scientific methodologies and Systems-Engineering principles to gather critical performance data on test platforms and provide users with an evidence base which allows them to make well-informed, data-led decisions about their platforms and systems.

REMAYA operates a secure test and evaluation facility, known as XRANGE. From its secure island setting, XRANGE provides over 350km2 of test range area as well as up to 10,000ft of airspace to assess platforms and systems in operationally realistic conditions and scenarios. Open all year around to both UAE and International clients and supported by dedicated infrastructure, advanced instrumentation and data capture systems, it is a unique testing environment in the heart of the Middle East. Our expert engineering teams support our clients with trials planning and advisory services across their product lifecycle, from concept to in service upgrades. REMAYA also deploys mobile instrumentation and support services directly to our clients, providing mobile test and evaluation range support both in the UAE and Globally.

The Senior Specialist, Testing & Evaluation (Land & Maritime) is part of the Xrange unit that ensures planning and risk assessments with mitigating measures for safe and successful trials for all clients. The unit continuously interacts and cooperates with a wide range of clients and internal Xrange stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to plan land and maritime tests/trials.
• Assist with client engagement to understand the risks associated with project objectives, and desired outcomes.
• Assist SME with the planning and deconfliction of complex land and maritime tests.
• Ensure that appropriate risk mitigations are applied to all tests.
• Assist with the planning and implementation of Notices to Mariners (NtMs) and Notice to Air Missions (NOTAMs) based on customer requirements.
• Laise with external regulatory authorities to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with UAE safety standards.
• Accurately document test procedures, results, observations, and recommendations.
• Assist in the development and review of project documentation.
• Conduct thorough research to stay updated on changes in their field of expertise.
• Participate in audits as required.
• Maintain a database of risk assessments.
• Develop the Xrange risk management framework.
• Manage Hot-Wash-Up and After-Action-Reviews following completion of tests.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• A bachelors degree in Engineering or associated fields
• Atleast 5 - 7 years of Defence experience, preferrable military background
• Atleast 5 years experience from a Test, Training, and Evaluation (TT&E) range, or similar.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of Weapon Danger Areas.
• Fluent in written and verbal English.
• Previous experience in planning and coordinating land and/or maritime tests/trials.
• Understanding of safety principles, range management practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong understanding of data capture techniques, instrumentation, and planning methodologies.
• Excellent communication, client management, and organizational skills.
• Strong managerial abilities, with a focus on safety and compliance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of NOTAM system.
• Knowledge of military operations.
• Knowledge of unmanned systems.
