Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of the annual operational plan for storage facilities, including performance indicators, targets, projects, and programs, and determine budget requirements.
• Develop policies, methodologies, and processes; monitor indicators and submit related reports.
• Develop and implement storage facility policies, evaluate standards for artifact care, and address IP matters.
• Draft the strategic plan for storage facilities and ensure alignment with department objectives.
• Strengthen relationships with internal and external partners to ensure service delivery to best standards.
• Assist in preparing the warehouse budget in coordination with relevant units.
• Manage artifacts including preservation, classification, data entry, and documentation accuracy.
• Oversee artifact preservation programs and develop methods to protect artifacts from damage.
• Supervise annual inventory and reconcile findings with artifact records for reports.

• Develop policies, methodologies, and processes; propose relevant performance indicators; monitor their implementation; and submit related reports .


• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and processes for storage facilities; evaluate existing standards for the management and care of artifacts; establish new professional standards to meet the needs of various artifact categories, leverage technological advancements, address legal matters concerning archaeological collections, and oversee intellectual property issues .


• Draft the strategic plan for storage facilities and contribute to its development; prepare and monitor the implementation of operational plans to ensure alignment with the department's objectives .


• Strengthen relationships with internal and external partners to ensure service delivery in accordance with best standards


• Participate in preparing the warehouse budget in coordination with the relevant units within the organization


• Manage and oversee artifacts—including preservation and classification—as well as the entry and updating of data regarding artifacts and archaeological collections, ensuring accurate and impartial documentation


• Manage and supervise artifact preservation and preventive conservation programs, and develop methods to protect artifacts from damage


• Supervise the annual inventory process, reconcile findings with artifact records, and prepare and submit relevant reports


• Develop and implement risk management programs and emergency procedures regarding storage and environmental conditions—specifically heating and ventilation—within heritage buildings, in coordination with relevant stakeholders


• Conduct studies to develop professional standards and propose new practices in environmental monitoring, pest control, security, surveillance systems, and risk management to mitigate risks and preserve artifacts


• Supervise storage facility inspections, implement necessary corrective actions, address operational obstacles, and prepare periodic reports on storage operations and artifact preservation in accordance with the organization's approved systems


• Develop and qualify a competent national workforce capable of performing tasks related to storage management and artifact preservation


• Review and evaluate requests for the internal and external loan of artifacts, and oversee packing, shipping, and insurance procedures

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, History, Archaeology, or an equivalent field from an accredited university; a Master’s degree is preferred.
