Job summary

Penspen is urgently hiring a Sr. Construction Engineer (AOI) – I&C for Offshore PMC projects in Abu Dhabi. The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in instrumentation and control or related engineering and 15+ years of experience, including offshore exposure, brownfield, shutdown and tie-in work.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and field construction leadership for installation, inspection, testing, completion and handover of I&C systems offshore.
• Ensure I&C construction activities are safe, efficient, and in accordance with documents, specs, codes, and schedules.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, QA/QC, HSE, Planning, Procurement and Vendors to resolve field issues and achieve handover.
• Lead I&C construction activities within the AOI and provide direction to supervisors, foremen, technicians and subcontractors.
• Plan construction priorities based on schedule and commissioning requirements; ensure work fronts are released.
• Coordinate I&C with mechanical, piping, electrical, structural and civil activities and monitor field execution.
• Ensure adherence to method statements and work packs; identify constraints and implement corrective actions.
• Support construction management to achieve area and project milestones; supervise field instrument installations and valve actuators.

Penspen is urgently looking to hire for Sr. Construction Engineer (AOI)– I&C for one of our Offshore PMC projects in Abu Dhabi.

Qualification Required

• The candidates should have bachelor's degree of engineering in Instrumentation & Control, Electronics, Electrical or related engineering discipline from an accredited university.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing technical and field construction leadership for the installation, inspection, testing, completion and handover of instrumentation and control systems within the assigned AOI (Area of Installation/Interest or project-defined area) of an offshore oil & gas project.
• Ensures that I&C construction activities are executed safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved engineering documents, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, construction schedules, quality requirements and offshore operating constraints.
• Works closely with Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, QA/QC, HSE, Planning, Procurement, Operations, Vendors and Subcontractors, and provides technical support for resolving field issues and achieving mechanical completion and system handover.
• Lead I&C construction activities within the assigned AOI.
• Provide technical direction to I&C supervisors, foremen, technicians and subcontractors.
• Establish construction priorities based on project schedule and commissioning requirements.
• Ensure work fronts are properly planned and released.
• Coordinate I&C construction with mechanical, piping, electrical, structural and civil activities.
• Monitor field execution against approved drawings, specifications and procedures.
• Ensure construction activities are performed according to approved method statements and work packs.
• Identify constraints and implement corrective actions.
• Support construction management in achieving area and project milestones.
• Supervise installation of field instruments and associated accessories.
• Supervise installation of control valves, shutdown valves, actuators and associated accessories.

Experience Required

• Minimum 15+ years of experience, with at least 5+ years significant in offshore project.
• Significant offshore oil & gas construction experience preferred/required for offshore deployment
• Demonstrated experience in Brownfield, shutdown and tie-in experience strongly preferred
• Strong field instrumentation installation and hook-up experience
• Preferred experience from PMC/EPC Background.
• Previous ADNOC Offshore Experience is advantage.
