Job summary

SEHA in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality services and support families and educators.

The role involves developing treatment plans, using standard assessments and integrating therapy into daily routines while upholding infection control and patient confidentiality. Arabic skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in Speech and Hearing Sciences or Speech Language Pathology.
• Desirable to have Arabic language communication skills.
• Ability to develop and implement specialised speech and language treatment plans for individuals and groups.

Responsibilities

• Independently managing with supervision a caseload of patients with developmental speech and language delay and disorder, social communication disorder including dysfluency and motor speech disorders (dyspraxia)
• Developing and implementing specialised speech and language treatment plans for individuals and groups targeting a wide range of difficulties (e.g. attention and listening skills; auditory processing; play and interaction; language understanding and expression; speech production)
• Advising others regarding management and care of patients with communication needs and oro-motor difficulties
• Using standardised assessments and clinical reasoning to form baselines or differential diagnoses to plan interventions
• Delivering therapy to integrate speech, language and communication into learning and daily routines
• Taking in-depth case histories including medical, social, psychological, educational and developmental information
• Working as a member of the SLT team and liaising with internal and external agencies to provide targeted management
• Ensuring a productive therapeutic relationship with patients and families and respecting cultural attitudes and expectations
• Monitoring equipment and maintaining infection control practices
• Maintaining confidentiality of patient information
