Job Description

The Regional Security Office APAC-MEA protects people, places, assets, information, processes and reputation within its geographical and organisational scope. The Team is looking for a Specialist Security Digitalisation & Fire Protection to drive the regional digitalisation of security governance and service delivery across APAC-MEA. The function converts priority security needs into simple, compliant and scalable digital solutions using BMW-approved tools, enabling better risk visibility, maturity tracking, action management, country champion coordination and leadership reporting, and acting as a regional fire protection lead.

What awaits you?

• Lead transformation of manual security processes into compliant digital products, including risk registers, assessment outputs, action trackers, traveller feedback, incident learning, security concepts, fire protection follow-up and country champion coordination.
• Lead digitalisation for RSO APAC-MEA by identifying, prioritising and delivering practical digital improvements across governance, risk management, maturity tracking, assurance, reporting and stakeholder services.
• Develop and maintain security dashboards, structured data capture, maturity-model tooling and management reporting that improve visibility of risks, control weaknesses, open actions, regional KPIs and delivery performance.
• Use BMW-approved Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Forms, Planner, Power Platform, reporting and AI tools to improve collaboration, decision support, automation and risk-based prioritisation for the RSO APAC-MEA.
• Work with central PA-S security, business intelligence, physical security, incident and crisis management, information protection teams to align regional digital and AI solutions with global standards, reusable templates and approved ways of working.
• Assess and explore the AI use cases across the several security fields of action for the entire APAC-MEA security team and lead the identified use case (s) development and implementation.
• Design and deliver a digital software or platform, to allow market maturity tracking against all security fields of action. Deliver online guides, clinics and short learning formats that raise digital confidence, AI literacy and tool adoption across the regional security community and local security coordinator network.
• Ensure all digital security solutions comply with BMW IT requirements, information protection rules, sensitivity labelling, data handling standards, access control principles, cyber-security expectations and AI governance guardrails.
• Act as regional fire protection topic lead as a secondary responsibility, maintaining a basic governance view, supporting local follow-up where required and completing NEBOSH fire training or equivalent.
• Remain available for region-wide travel, non-routine working hours and alternative core security topics or multi-rolling responsibilities as directed by the Head of PA-S-AP-3.

What should you bring along?

• Bachelor or Masters degree or equivalent cross-mapped educational or professional experience in digital transformation, business informatics, process improvement, project management, corporate security, risk management or a related discipline.
• 4-6 years full-time experience in digitalisation, business transformation, process improvement, workflow automation, AI-enabled productivity, data visualisation, digital adoption or regional service delivery within a complex multinational environment; security experience is desirable but not essential.
• Demonstrable experience identifying digital opportunities in a security or governance context, simplifying workflows, building practical digital products and delivering solutions that are adopted by non-technical security users.
• Digital qualifications desirable: Microsoft 365, Power Platform / low-code, Power BI or data visualisation, SharePoint administration, process automation, digital project management, data literacy or recognised digital literacy certification.
• AI qualifications desirable: generative AI fundamentals, responsible AI use, prompt engineering, AI productivity tools, AI-supported workflow design or relevant BMW AI Academy / Copilot training pathways.
• High digital fluency combined with a clear understanding of security governance, security risk management, regional security operations and how digital tools can improve the delivery of RSO responsibilities.
• Ability to design and maintain practical security dashboards, maturity trackers, RAG models, assessment databases, risk registers, action trackers and management reporting products for regional security leadership.
• Experience supporting risk registers, maturity models, assessments, audits, action tracking, compliance follow-up, security reporting or management dashboards is desirable.
• Project and change qualifications desirable: PRINCE2, MSP, PMI-PMP, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma or comparable training supporting rapid, structured process improvement and stakeholder adoption.
• Good understanding of IT compliance, information protection, data classification, access permissions, privacy expectations, cyber-security awareness and responsible AI governance.
• Ability to translate vague security problems into clear digital requirements, simple prototypes, workflows, service models, reporting outputs and training material that users can adopt quickly.
• Strong communication, facilitation and teaching skills, with the confidence to train colleagues, build capability, explain digital tools in plain language and support different maturity levels across the APAC-MEA security team.
• Committed team-player with a "team-of-teams" and one-mission approach; proven ability to act as a force multiplier, energise change, support adoption and improve how regional security work is delivered.
• Structured, pragmatic and delivery-focused, with the ability to move quickly from security need to usable digital product while maintaining governance, documentation and stakeholder alignment.
• Basic understanding of fire protection principles or willingness to complete NEBOSH fire training, enabling limited regional coordination and informed follow-up without making fire protection the primary role focus.
• English language - Common European Framework of Reference for Languages proficiency level C2 Mastery / C1 Advanced.
