The successful candidate will provide specialized pediatric care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents, managing congenital abnormalities, pediatric surgical conditions, and emergencies.

The role requires recognized degrees (MBBS/MD), a postgraduate qualification in Pediatric Surgery, and Western qualifications such as UK CCT/CCST

Qualifications

• Recognized medical degree in pediatrics or surgery.
• Postgraduate qualification in Pediatric Surgery required.
• Western qualifications (UK CCT/CCST, American/Canadian/Australian/other boards) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and surgically manage congenital and acquired pediatric conditions.
• Perform pediatric procedures within scope of training and practice.
• Manage pediatric surgical emergencies and coordinate urgent care.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care and follow-up.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists and anaesthesiologists.
• Communicate clearly with parents about plans, risks and recovery.
• Maintain records, adhere to protocols and infection-control standards.
• Participate in audits, teaching and continuing medical education.

A leading government healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking a qualified and experienced Pediatric Surgeon to join its surgical team. The successful candidate will provide specialized surgical care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents, managing congenital abnormalities, pediatric surgical conditions, and emergency cases. Candidates with recognized specialist qualifications, strong surgical expertise, and a commitment to high-quality patient-centered care are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and surgically manage congenital abnormalities and acquired surgical conditions in infants and children.
• Perform pediatric surgical procedures according to the candidate’s specialty, training, and approved scope of practice.
• Manage pediatric surgical emergencies and coordinate urgent interventions when required.
• Provide preoperative assessments, postoperative care, and long-term follow-up.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, and intensive care teams.
• Communicate treatment plans, surgical risks, and recovery expectations clearly to parents and caregivers.
• Monitor patient outcomes and manage postoperative complications.
• Maintain accurate medical records and comply with hospital protocols, patient safety standards, and infection-control requirements.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews, clinical audits, teaching, and continuing medical education.

• Recognized medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent).
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pediatric Surgery.
• Western qualifications preferred, including UK CCT/CCST, American Board, Canadian Board, Australian Board, South African Board, or an equivalent internationally recognized qualification.
• Relevant post-specialization experience appropriate to the Specialist or Consultant position.
• Demonstrated expertise in pediatric surgical procedures and the management of complex pediatric cases.
• Strong clinical judgment, surgical skills, and decision‑making abilities.
