SearchPlus HR Consultancy invites applications for a Specialist/Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to deliver comprehensive orthopaedic and trauma services in Dubai. You will assess, diagnose, treat and surgically manage musculoskeletal conditions, delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care within a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will hold MBBS/MBChB and a recognized Orthopaedic Board, with UAE licensing or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Medical degree required (MBBS/MBChB or equivalent).
• Recognized South African Board in Orthopaedic Surgery.
• Relevant post-specialization clinical experience.
• Strong orthopaedic surgery and trauma management experience.
• Valid professional registration in the UAE.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic orthopaedic conditions.
• Provide specialist consultation for musculoskeletal, bone, joint, ligament and soft-tissue disorders.
• Perform and assist with orthopaedic surgical procedures within scope of practice.
• Manage orthopaedic trauma and emergency cases, including fractures and dislocations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, including conservative and surgical management.
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-up.
• Monitor patient recovery and address post-operative complications.
• Interpret imaging (X-rays, CT, MRI) where applicable.
• Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation.
• Provide referrals and coordinate multidisciplinary patient care.
• Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, options and outcomes.
• Participate in governance, quality improvement and infection prevention.
• Support training and supervision of junior doctors and staff.
• Maintain UAE regulatory compliance.

Job Description:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Specialist / Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to provide comprehensive orthopaedic and trauma services, including the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and surgical management of musculoskeletal conditions.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality, evidence-based patient care and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with acute and chronic orthopaedic conditions.
• Provide specialist consultation for musculoskeletal, bone, joint, ligament and soft-tissue disorders.
• Perform and assist with appropriate orthopaedic surgical procedures within the physicians approved scope of practice.
• Manage orthopaedic trauma and emergency cases, including fractures, dislocations and other musculoskeletal injuries.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, including conservative and surgical management.
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-up.
• Monitor patient recovery and identify and manage post-operative complications.
• Interpret relevant imaging and diagnostic investigations, including X-rays, CT and MRI, where applicable.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records and clinical documentation.
• Provide appropriate referrals to other specialties and coordinate multidisciplinary patient care.
• Counsel patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical procedures, risks and expected outcomes.
• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, infection prevention and patient-safety initiatives.
• Support the training, supervision and mentoring of junior doctors and medical staff where applicable.
• Maintain professional standards in accordance with UAE healthcare regulations and the policies of the employing facility.

• Relevant post-specialization clinical experience.
• Strong experience in orthopaedic surgery and trauma management.
• Valid professional registration/licence in the country of practice.
• Certificate of Good Standing.
• DataFlow/Primary Source Verification, as applicable.
• Surgical logbook and relevant experience documentation, where required.
• UAE eligibility/licensing subject to assessment and approval by the relevant health authority.
