Job summary

Olcoms is seeking an experienced Software Engineer who can pivot toward Solution Architecture. You will translate business requirements into technical specs and collaborate with client teams, product management, and engineering to deliver integrated solutions.

You will prototype APIs, assess platform features, and support sales with technical demonstrations and RFP responses while coordinating with global teams and ensuring secure, scalable implementations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Hands-on backend development experience (Java, databases, 3rd party integrations).
• Analytical skills and ability to translate vague requirements into actionable items.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across multiple time zones.
• Hands-on knowledge of web services, SQL and networking.
• Experience in product-oriented projects and release management processes.

Responsibilities

• Transform business requirements into consistent technical flows and translate them into platform configurations or specs.

Are you an experienced Software Engineer and you feel ready to be the pivot to Solution Architecture? Do you enjoy translating the commercial language into actual technical specs? This is your perfect chance! Working closely with the client, product management and software development team you will be able to demonstrate your high level of software development as well as communication skills.

What Will You Do?

Transform business requirements into consistent technical flows. Understand business models and translate them into either platform configuration or specification for new implementation(s).

Write technical specification for the software development and client teams with the guidance of an experienced Solution Architect.

Identify the need/opportunity for new platform features and functionality and bring it to the attention of product management.

Work with various internal teams (engineering, quality assurance, ops, product management, project management, business) to develop new solutions.

Evaluate and prototype APIs for third party integrations.

Understand transactions and billing and coordinate security conversions.

Understand and perform data migrations.

Propose and build flow diagrams and interaction diagrams.

Support the sales team with technical knowledge as required, including giving demonstrations and assisting on RFP responses.

Present product capabilities and solutions to internal teams and prospect.

What Will You Bring?

Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Software Development.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Prior hands-on software development experience (preferably, backend development using Java, databases and integration with 3rd party services).

Analytical skills, evidence of translating vague requirements into actionable development items.

Excellent communication and organization skills.

Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in multiple time zones.

Hands-on knowledge of web services, SQL and networking (familiarity with telco OSS is a great plus).

Worked on product-oriented projects and release management processes.

Experience in software development processes, and source control and issue tracking systems.

Availability for regular traveling
