Job description

The School Social Worker will play a vital role in supporting the emotional, social, and academic well‑being of our students. Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals, you will assess student needs, develop and implement individualized support plans, and empower students to thrive in a positive learning environment. You will be a passionate advocate for students, promoting their mental health, resilience, and overall success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for students facing academic, behavioral, or social‑emotional challenges.
  • Partner with teachers to identify students who may benefit from social work intervention and support.
  • Collaborate with families to develop and implement comprehensive support plans that address student needs.
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and evaluations to understand the underlying causes of student challenges.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support for students facing acute issues such as grief, trauma, or family conflict.
  • Facilitate workshops and trainings on topics related to social‑emotional learning, positive behavior intervention and supports (PBIS), and child development.
  • Advocate for and promote child protection policies and procedures within the school.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and interventions.
  • Stay up‑to‑date on relevant social work theories, practices, and resources in the UAE context.
  • Collaborate effectively with a diverse team of school professionals, including teachers, administrators, counselors, and health professionals.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Social Work preferred.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensing as a Social Worker in the UAE.
