Job summary

Halian in Dubai is seeking an experienced Snowflake Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions supporting BI, analytics, and reporting. You will collaborate with stakeholders, analysts, and BI teams to deliver high-quality datasets while ensuring data quality and governance.

Key focus areas include Snowflake data pipelines, data modeling, SQL optimization, Python-based ingestion, and Dataiku workflows, with migration considerations to Azure Data Factory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Data Eng or related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer/Snowflake Engineer in a production environment.
• Strong Snowflake expertise: data modelling (dimensional & relational), stored procedures & views, data transformation & optimization, performance tuning.
• Advanced SQL development and query optimization skills.
• Strong Python programming skills for data processing and pipelines.
• Experience with Dataiku for ingestion and transformation workflows.
• Experience integrating data from SharePoint, Salesforce, and SFTP sources.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, data quality, monitoring & error-handling.
• Experience with CI/CD and source control in data engineering.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Azure data services.
• Exposure to Agile delivery and DevOps practices.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Snowflake Data Engineer to join our growing data team. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions that support business intelligence, analytics, and reporting initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Snowflake, advanced SQL capabilities, and strong Python programming skills, combined with experience building reliable data pipelines across multiple source systems.

As a key member of the data engineering function, you will work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and BI developers to deliver high-quality, reporting-ready datasets while ensuring data quality, governance, and operational excellence.

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines within Snowflake to support enterprise analytics and reporting requirements.
• Develop robust data models, transformations, views, stored procedures, and reporting-ready data structures.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for high-performance data processing and analytics.
• Create and maintain Python-based solutions for data ingestion, transformation, automation, and orchestration.
• Develop and support ingestion pipelines using Dataiku, integrating data from various source systems including SharePoint, Salesforce, and SFTP environments.
• Monitor data pipelines, identify performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and implement continuous improvements.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Snowflake Engineer, or similar role in a production environment.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Snowflake, including:
