Job summary

AL TARIQ in the United Arab Emirates seeks a senior hydraulic systems engineer to lead UAV hydraulic design and integration. The role focuses on flight controls, landing gear and actuation, with emphasis on safety, reliability and regulatory compliance.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor's in Mechanical/Aerospace or Fluid Power Engineering and prefer a Master's/PhD in hydraulics or aircraft systems, with 10+ years in aerospace/defense hydraulic design. A SME track is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Mechanical or Aerospace or Fluid Power Engineering.
• Masters or PhD in hydraulics, mechatronics, or aircraft systems (preferred).
• 10+ years of hydraulic systems design and integration in aerospace/defense, with at least 4 years at a senior/SME level.
• Experience with UAVs or aircraft platforms involving hydraulic systems for flight control or ground systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for UAV hydraulic systems.
• Lead hydraulic system design for flight controls, landing gear, weapon release, and actuation.
• Design hydraulic circuits including power packs, actuators, accumulators, reservoirs, filters, and lines.
• Develop system requirements, schematics, ICDs, and technical specifications.
• Oversee integration with mechanical structures, avionics, flight control, and actuation.
• Define and lead functional, leak, endurance, and environmental testing activities.
• Ensure compliance with MIL-PRF-5606, MIL-STD-810, DO-160, AS9100, and airworthiness requirements.
• Support FMEA, certification, and regulatory documentation for approval.
• Drive R&D by evaluating advanced hydraulic technologies, improving reliability, reducing weight, and enhancing system efficiency.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in hydraulic systems design and integration in aerospace or defense sectors, with at least 4 years at a senior or SME level.
• Experience with UAV, rotary-wing, or fixed-wing aircraft platforms involving hydraulic systems for flight control or ground systems.

Preferred Certifications

• INCOSE CSEP (Certified Systems Engineering Professional) – Preferred
