Job summary

Stone, a technology and financial services company focused on the customer, seeks a seasoned database leader to guide teams and shape data strategy in a fast-paced environment.

You will own database architecture, drive performance and availability, and lead projects for data platform modernization and cloud migration, while collaborating with security to protect sensitive data across production platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience leading database or data infrastructure teams.
• Deep knowledge of relational database administration (SQL Server and PostgreSQL).
• Experience with distributed data platforms and NoSQL (MongoDB and DynamoDB).
• Mastery of cloud architecture (AWS and Azure).
• Experience with replication, sharding, cluster management, and high availability.
• Knowledge of data protection regulations such as LGPD, PCI-DSS, and BACEN.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (Grafana and DataDog).
• Ability to work autonomously in high-complexity environments.
• Strong technical and executive communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills and root cause analysis expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage teams of database specialists, including talent development and mentoring.
• Define and implement database architecture strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Manage performance, availability, and disaster recovery for critical production environments.
• Plan capacity, scalability, and data infrastructure cost optimization.
• Maintain backup, replication, and disaster recovery policies.
• Lead projects for data platform modernization and cloud migration.
• Develop indicators and metrics for data system health, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborate with information security areas to implement controls and protect sensitive data.
• Manage tuning, indexing, and query optimization routines in high-performance environments.
• Implement automation and monitoring solutions to increase operational efficiency.
