DESCRIPTION

AWS has an exciting Data Center Facility Engineer opportunity in Abu Dhabi available for a UAE national with family book. AWS is committed to contributing towards the UAE’s goal of employing 75,000 Emiratis in the private sector and Ministerial Resolution No.279.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for Data Center Technicians to join our rapidly expanding team. The position involves ensuring overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. Responsibilities include hardware and network diagnostics, physical repairs, and participation in an on-call rotation.

All candidates should be willing to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are essential. Candidates will install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, and resolve complex problems within the Data Center environment.

As a Data Center Technician, you will be part of a team responsible for operating large-scale, geographically diverse, critical facilities. Candidates should demonstrate analytical expertise in complex mission-critical environments.

Key job responsibilities

• Maintain and support data center infrastructure as part of the Operations team.
• Handle server rack installation, hardware troubleshooting, network issue resolution, and respond to operational emergencies.
• Serve as a primary contact for internal teams (Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, Software Developers, Technical Operations) and external vendors.
• Manage trouble tickets, perform hardware troubleshooting, and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
• Participate in team meetings, contribute to documentation, and support process improvements.
• Adhere to safety and security policies, including physical handling of equipment up to 20kg and working in confined or elevated spaces.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• UAE National with family book
• At least 1 year of computer hardware experience
• At least 1 year of computer networking experience
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in elevated or confined spaces following safety guidelines
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 environment, participate in on-call rotations, and support after-hours activities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Over 1 year of Linux OS experience
• Over 2 years of hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
• Over 2 years of Data Center experience
• Over 1 year of scripting experience (Perl, Python, Bash, etc.)
• Experience with hardware platforms such as Dell, HP, Super Micro, etc.
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent in an IT-related field
