Job summary

AirQ Limited in Abu Dhabi, UAE, seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to own the Cargo 200 and 40 Programme VTOL cargo UAVs. You will translate mission/customer/regulatory needs into system-level requirements, define architecture, and lead verification and validation across mechanical, avionics and software teams.

Reporting to the VP of R&D, you will manage interfaces, risk, and airworthiness activities, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure budgets and safety objectives are met in alignment with UAE

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree as stated.
• 7+ years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in systems engineering on UAVs or complex electromechanical products.
• Experience taking a programme from concept through flight test or deployment.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering processes (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, INCOSE).
• Requirements management, architecture definition, interface control, verification & validation, configuration management.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• Based in or willing to relocate to Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage system requirements including mission, customer, and regulatory needs.
• Decompose requirements into traceable subsystem/interface requirements.
• Lead system architecture definition and trade studies.
• Coordinate with mechanical, avionics and software teams to ensure consistency.
• Lead safety and verification activities (FHA, FMEA/FMECA, FTA).
• Plan and execute verification/validation from components to full system.
• Maintain ICDs, risk registers and system documentation.
• Act as system-level flight test engineer and interface with regulators and suppliers.
