Job summary

WSP Middle East is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – Vertical Transportation (VT) to join our UAE team. You will lead design, specification and delivery of VT systems across a diverse portfolio including commercial, residential, mixed-use, aviation, hospitality and major infrastructure developments.

Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, provide technical leadership, ensure compliance with international and regional codes, and mentor junior staff while supporting business development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 8+ years’ professional VT design/consultancy experience.
• Experience with large-scale, high-rise, mixed-use, hospitality and infrastructure VT projects.
• Strong knowledge of EN/ISO/BS codes and local Middle East requirements.
• Chartered Engineer status or active progression toward accreditation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and specification of VT systems including lifts, escalators, moving walks and specialist systems.
• Prepare reports, drawings, schedules and specifications per project needs.
• Review VT designs for compliance with codes and standards.
• Coordinate with MEP, Architecture, Structures, BIM and external stakeholders.
• Engage with clients, architects, contractors and VT suppliers through the project lifecycle.
• Support tender evaluations and technical submissions.
• Provide on-site support, inspections, commissioning and handover.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical development.
• Assist business development with proposals and client presentations.
