About the Role:
The Head of Commercial Banking, Assets is responsible for leading the bank’s commercial banking division, driving strategic growth, managing client relationships, and delivering tailored financial solutions to mid‑sized and small corporate clients. This executive role carries full P&L accountability, team leadership, and alignment with the bank’s broader strategic goals, and reports directly to the EVP and Head of Business Banking – Assets.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead strategy to identify, target, and onboard new clients across trade, working capital, and real estate segments.
- Develop client engagement plans to grow wallet share and cross‑sell products.
- Build market intelligence to identify emerging opportunities and competitive positioning.
- Lead and mentor relationship managers and analysts.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and client‑centricity.
- Set clear KPIs and ensure delivery against business targets.
- Oversee portfolio health, renewals, and proactive risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with credit risk and compliance teams to maintain governance standards.
- Monitor asset quality and ensure adherence to risk parameters.
- Act as liaison between clients, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
- Represent the unit in strategic forums and product committees.
- Provide market insights for senior management planning.
- Streamline processes and improve service delivery.
- Implement best practices in client onboarding, credit analysis, and portfolio management.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
- 10–12 years of progressive banking experience in corporate/SME banking with a top‑tier bank in UAE.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of credit structuring and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to manage P&L and deliver strategic growth.
