Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Senior Planning/Urban Design professional to lead projects and deliver complex solutions with pragmatic methodologies.

You will manage smaller projects, lead client meetings and workshops, and coordinate with design teams while ensuring alignment with standards and best practices. 5–8 years of experience and professional membership are expected. This role is on-site in Abu Dhabi, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in planning or urban design.
• Degree in Architecture/Landscape/Urban Planning or Masters in Urban Design/Master Planning.
• Member of AIA/RIBA/ARB/RTPI or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead independent preparation and delivery of complex planning solutions.
• Manage smaller projects and lead client meetings/workshops.
• Present deliverables to clients and act as discipline representative.
• Capable of leading on bids (including financials) up to 10mn AED fee.

Overview

Line manages more junior staff. Independently leads smaller projects with support of a director. Possesses in depth knowledge and expertise in at least one area of planning. Can deliver smaller bids independently (including financials) significantly contributes to the larger ones. Leading on the day-to-day management of projects (up to 10mn AED fee). Capable of independent preparation and delivery of complex solutions based on pragmatic and coordinated methodologies in line with best practice. Act as discipline representative at external workshops and forums.

Your role

• Capable of independent preparation and delivery of complex solutions based on pragmatic and coordinated methodologies in line with best practice.
• Works independently;
  receives minimal
  guidance.
• Achieved expertise up to a standard required for membership / accreditation at recognised relevant technical institute / body.
• Attends client meetings and leads presentations / workshops regarding own deliverables.
• Can lead smaller projects in front of clients.

About you

• Developed Town Planning/Urban Design skills and understanding of the design process and interfaces between design disciplines.
• Effective communication.
• High quality report writing skills and / or GIS / AutoCAD / Rhino/ Sketchup/ Adobe Suite / PPT.

Qualifications required
