Job summary

EDGE, based in Abu Dhabi, is seeking a Structural Test Engineer to lead UAV structural testing, design and execution, ensuring airframe integrity and safety. You will collaborate with design, integration and flight test teams to validate structural performance under static, dynamic and fatigue loads.

About The Role

The Structural Test Engineer is responsible from; structural testing (including static, dynamic, and fatigue testing) and validation of the UAV platform, ensuring the airframe and all supporting structures meet performance, safety, and durability standards and will work closely with design, integration, and flight test teams to ensure that all structural elements meet stringent specifications.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in structural testing, with a focus on aerospace, UAV, or defense systems.

Skills

• Knowledge of structural testing (static, dynamic, and fatigue) and test setup design.
• Proficiency in test equipment used for structural testing (e.g., load cells, strain gauges, test rigs, vibration testing equipment).
• Familiarity with structural analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN, Abaqus) and the ability to interpret structural test results in the context of design requirements.
• Familiarity with structural modal analysis software (e.g., Simcenter Testlab) and the ability to interpret modal test results and compare them to the FEM results).
• Familiarity with Design CAD software like SolidWorks.
• Experience with data acquisition systems and analysis tools (e.g., LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar software) for collecting, processing, and analyzing test data.
