Job summary

GDIT in Dubai is seeking a seasoned telecommunications facilities engineer to evaluate, design, and oversee telecom rooms (MDF/IDF/CELs), including racks, grounding, electrical, and cooling. You will conduct site surveys, develop layout designs, and manage cabling and rack installation teams while coordinating with base civil engineering for facility upgrades.

The role requires 5+ years in telecom rooms or data center buildouts, experience with applicable standards, and a Secret Clearance and US

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent with 5+ years of experience.
• 4-7 years of experience with telecommunications rooms, data center buildouts, or ISP infrastructure.
• Experience managing cabling and rack installation teams.
• Knowledge of grounding/bonding, power specs, and room environmental requirements.
• Secret Security Clearance.
• US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, design, and oversee telecommunications rooms (MDF/IDF/CELs), including racks, bonding/grounding, electrical, and cooling.
• Conduct site surveys documenting power, cooling, and room readiness.
• Develop layout designs including rack plans, cable management, and equipment placement.
• Manage GDIT, Agency, and Subcontractor teams performing room buildouts and installations.
• Ensure compliance with UFC, TIA/EIA, I3A, and DOD telecommunications room standards.
• Coordinate with base civil engineering for facility upgrades.
• Support site installation of fiber, CAT6, WIFI, and CEL closet solutions.
• Participate in design reviews and customer briefings as a Subject Matter Expert.
