About the Opportunity

We are supporting a leading financial institution in the UAE in its search for a Senior Technical Product Owner specialising in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

This is a senior product leadership opportunity to shape and deliver enterprise AI capabilities as part of a broader Generative AI transformation. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of AI engineering, data science and business strategy, translating emerging technologies into secure, scalable and commercially valuable products.

The role offers the opportunity to influence AI adoption across a complex, highly regulated organisation, with a particular focus on Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic AI systems and enterprise machine learning platforms.

We are particularly interested in candidates with strong enterprise product delivery experience who are looking to take the next step in their career within the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for enterprise AI and ML platforms.
• Translate Generative AI ambitions into prioritised product initiatives aligned with business objectives.
• Lead cross-functional teams through product discovery, development, deployment and continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities to apply emerging AI capabilities to complex business challenges.

Technical Product Ownership

• Own and manage product backlogs across multiple agile squads, ensuring priorities reflect business value, technical feasibility and delivery timelines.
• Work closely with data scientists, AI engineers, software developers and business stakeholders to deliver production-ready AI solutions.
• Manage dependencies across teams, remove delivery blockers and maintain a clear focus on outcomes.
• Translate complex technical requirements into clear product specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria.

AI Evaluation, Governance & Observability

• Establish evaluation frameworks to measure the performance, reliability and effectiveness of LLM-powered products and agentic workflows.
• Define KPIs, success metrics and ROI measures for AI initiatives.
• Champion responsible AI, model transparency, data privacy, security and regulatory compliance.
• Support the implementation of monitoring and observability capabilities to track AI performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Stakeholder & Executive Engagement

• Act as the bridge between technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
• Communicate AI product strategy, delivery progress, risks and business impact to executive audiences.
• Build alignment across business, technology, data and risk functions.
• Develop business cases and prioritisation frameworks that demonstrate measurable value.
• Evaluate emerging developments across Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) and agentic systems.
• Contribute to the adoption of appropriate AI frameworks, platforms and tooling.
• Promote experimentation, continuous learning and the responsible scaling of AI capabilities across the organisation.
• Provide direction and support to a small product team.
• Establish clear objectives, maintain delivery standards and encourage continuous improvement.
• Foster effective collaboration between product, engineering, data science and business teams.

Experience & Background

The ideal candidate will bring:

• At least 7 years of product management experience, with substantial exposure to AI, ML, enterprise technology or digital platforms.
• Demonstrable experience taking complex technology products from strategy through to delivery and adoption.
• Experience owning technical product backlogs and coordinating multiple cross-functional teams or agile squads.
• A strong understanding of enterprise AI product development, including LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows and AI evaluation methodologies.
• Experience working with data scientists, AI engineers and software engineering teams.
• An understanding of AI governance, responsible AI principles, data privacy and the challenges of deploying AI in regulated environments.
• The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to senior business and executive stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills, commercial awareness and a track record of delivering measurable business outcomes.

Experience within banking, financial services, fintech or another highly regulated industry would be particularly valuable.

Technical Knowledge

Candidates should have familiarity with several of the following:

• Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI.
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Agentic AI architectures and workflows.
• AI model evaluation, performance monitoring and observability.
• Azure OpenAI and enterprise AI platforms.
• LangChain, Pinecone or comparable AI orchestration and vector database technologies.
• Agile product management tools, including Jira.
• Responsible AI, model risk and enterprise technology governance.

A computer science, business, information systems or related degree is preferred. Relevant postgraduate qualifications and product management certifications, such as CSPO or SAFe, are advantageous.
