Job summary

Dnipro VC seeks a Senior Technical Engineer for a part-time remote role. You will work with our investment and portfolio teams to evaluate AI and cybersecurity startup technology, review architecture designs, codebases, and infrastructure choices, and advise on scalability, reliability, and security.

You will help with due diligence calls, document assessments, and collaborate with founders to solve engineering challenges while promoting best practices for cloud deployments and development

Qualifications

Role Description

The Senior Technical Engineer will work closely with Dnipro VC's investment and portfolio teams to evaluate the technical merit of AI and cybersecurity startups and support their product development efforts. Day-to-day responsibilities may include reviewing architecture designs, code bases, and infrastructure choices; providing recommendations on scalability, reliability, and security; and advising on best practices for cloud deployments and development workflows. The role will involve preparing technical assessments, participating in due diligence calls, and collaborating with founders to resolve complex engineering challenges. This is a part-time remote role, offering flexibility while requiring consistent communication, documentation, and availability for scheduled meetings across time zones.

Qualifications

• Strong experience designing and implementing complex software systems, with hands‑on expertise in modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Demonstrated knowledge of AI or machine learning technologies, such as model development, data pipelines, and deployment of ML solutions.
• Solid background in cybersecurity principles, including secure architecture design, threat modeling, and practical security controls and tooling.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization, and CI/CD practices to support scalable and resilient products.
• Ability to conduct technical due diligence, evaluate engineering teams and code quality, and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills, with the capacity to work independently in a remote, part‑time setting.
• Previous experience in a senior engineering, technical lead, or CTO‑level role within startups or high‑growth technology companies is highly beneficial.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
