Wood, a global engineering leader, seeks an experienced Senior Structural Designer in Dubai to develop detailed structural designs and planning for projects in the energy sector.

You will produce drawings and 3D models, ensure compliance with codes, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes for our high-profile clients across the Middle East.

Competenze

• Over 10 years of oil and gas structural design and drafting experience.
• Strong knowledge of structural design and drafting across activities including deck extensions and jackets.
• Hands-on experience in AutoCAD and AutoCAD 3D, with Navis Works familiarity.
• Excellent English communication skills and proficiency with MS Office.

• Prepare structural drawings using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Ensure drawings comply with industry codes, standards, and company specifications.
• Coordinate with other disciplines for interface requirements and review IDC drawings.
• Support the engineering team in developing interface drawings.
• Prepare material take-offs (MTOs) from the design drawings.
• Potentially visit project sites to conduct surveys.

The Key Objective For This Role Is

To develop, coordinate, and deliver accurate structural design and detailing solutions for engineering and construction projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, safety requirements, and quality expectations. The role supports engineers by producing detailed structural drawings, 3D models, and design documentation while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate efficient project execution.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Preparation of structural engineering drawings using software such as AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Ensure all drawings comply to relevant industry codes, standards, and Company specifications.
• Coordinate with other disciplines for interface requirements and review of IDC drawings from other disciplines.
• Support the engineering team in developing associated interface drawings.
• Preparation of material take-offs (MTOs) from the design drawings.
• Potentially visit project sites to conduct surveys.
• Perform self-checks and reviews of drawings for accuracy, completeness, and clarity prior to formal submission.
• Manage and update drawing files, documentation, and project data within the company's document management system.

Expected

• Minimum 10 (ten) years of relevant experience in oil and gas structural design and drafting.
• Well conversant with engineering drawings.
• Strong knowledge in Structural design and drafting in all types of Structural design activities including but not limited to the following:
• Internal and External Slot Additions
• Deck Extensions
• Access Platforms
• Risers, J-Tubes & Clamps
• Pipe Support Systems
• Lifting Arrangements
• Jacket and Topsides
• Constructability Awareness in Structural Design
• Diploma in Civil or Structural
• 10 years’ experience in Oil and Gas structural design and drafting
• Hands on experience in AutoCAD & AutoCAD 3D
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to overcome complex design challenges.
• Good English communication skills.
• Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD 3D is typically mandatory.
• Experience with Navis Works
• Excellent in using MS Office Applications
