Job summary

Core42 is a leader in AI-powered cloud and digital infrastructure delivering sovereign AI infrastructure solutions. The Senior Engineer - Storage and Data Protection designs, implements, and operates large-scale storage across Cloud and HPC, ensuring performance, reliability, and security.

You will collaborate with architecture, security, and operations teams to optimize capacity, observability, and disaster recovery, while delivering robust, scalable storage across block, file, and object

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technology discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing large-scale storage and data protection platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with software-defined storage solutions across block, file, and object storage services.
• Hands-on experience with storage vendors such as HPE, Dell, NetApp, Hitachi, IBM, Pure Storage, or VAST Data.
• Good understanding of storage protocols and interfaces (iSCSI, S3, NFS, Fibre Channel, NVMe/TCP).
• Proficiency in Linux administration, kernel concepts, and storage stack troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Co-design, implement, and operate petabyte-scale storage solutions across Cloud and HPC environments.
• Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams on storage and backup solution design.
• Perform capacity planning and support forecasting for storage platforms.
• Improve storage reliability, high availability, and operational resilience.
• Analyze and optimize storage performance, throughput, latency, and resource utilization.
• Provide expert support including on-call, root cause analysis, and vendor escalation.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure secure, hardened storage and backups.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Improve support workflows and observability, logging, and monitoring.
