Job summary

Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Speech-Language Therapist/Pathologist to lead a team of clinicians and deliver comprehensive evaluation and treatment for pediatric and adult patients with speech, language, cognitive, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.

You will supervise SLT staff, ensure adherence to infection control and safety standards, and participate in service development, audits, and performance indicators to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• NLT 4 years of post-graduate experience in Speech and Hearing Sciences or Speech Language Pathology.
• Evidence of specialist knowledge and leadership experience (≥1 year).

Responsibilities

• Investigates assessments and formulates baseline measurements or differential diagnoses to plan intervention for swallowing, speech, and language disorders.
• Provides specialist assessment and treatment for swallowing and speech-language disorders (e.g., FEES, videostroboscopy, EPG, VitalStim, Nasometry).
• Assesses complex/undifferentiated cases and develops treatment plans.
• Monitors equipment usage and coordinates maintenance and replacements.
• Supervises junior staff and ensures compliance with department policies.
• Manages inventory, ordering, and replenishments for the assigned area.
• Leads workload allocation and prioritization within the service.
• Contributes to policy development, service improvements, and accreditation activities.
