JOB PURPOSE
Design, plan, and follow up GIS projects in alignment with RTA’s GIS roadmap and initiatives. Oversee GIS-related projects across agencies, supervise the administration and management of the GIS platform, database, portal, web services, and users, and ensure compliance with standards and procedures. Analyze, develop, and implement complex GIS solutions, staying updated with the latest technological advancements to enhance RTA’s GIS capabilities. Strategic planning, technical oversight, and innovation, ensuring GIS effectively supports decisionmaking and operations across RTA.
KEY RESULTS ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Adhere to RTA information Security Policies and Procedures, related to data protection and as per approved regulations
- Provide technical support for geospatial system and add value to section by providing innovative ideas for the enhancement of existing system
- Any additional responsibilities as advised by the direct line manager or Head of Department
- Manage and update of GIS Platform, Database, Portal, Web Services and Users
- Implementing and monitoring the implementation of relevant GIS systems and applications, procedures, policies, and guidelines
- Establishing strategic goals and plan in order to meet GIS section KPIs
- Implement GIS technical activities including all geospatial datasets and implements policies, procedures to maintain them
- Coordinate with the requesting agency and sectors or user to determine and refine technical requirements
- Proactively review, develop and implement strategies, policies, procedures standards, initiatives and systems in consultation with the concerned
\- Drawing up annual work and resource plans. Recognizes and actively seeks ways to exploit GIS to address complex business, organizational and technical issues
- Raise awareness and provide advice to RTA users in the potential of spatial information and services in GIS
- Design, plan and follow up GIS projects in line with the GIS Roadmap and RTA initiatives. Participate in the management of related projects implemented by the GIS Department or other RTA entities
- Updating the GIS platform, geodatabase, portal, web services, and users, ensuring compliance with standards and procedures
- Strategic planning, technical oversight, and innovation, ensuring effective GIS support for decision-making and operational modernization
- Analysing, developing, and implementing complex GIS solutions, and staying abreast of the latest technological developments to enhance the GIS capabilities of the Roads and Transport Authority

Education
Bachelor’s /master degree in Geomatics, Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field from a recognized university.
Bachelor's degree + 8 years of practical experience; Master's degree + 6 years of practical experience.
