Job summary

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Development Standards Leader for Environment to drive strategic goals, policies, and programs. Responsibilities

• Provide leadership support to the Environment section to set clear strategic goals aligned with the GCAA mission and vision.
• Foster a culture of excellence, innovation and continuous improvement within the Environment section.
• Promote effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives.
• Develop and maintain national policies and regulations related to aviation, climate change and Environment; ensure UAE aviation growth.
• Maintain and lead implementation of ICAO Annexes - Annex 16 vol 4 as per GCAA mandate.
• Represent UAE aviation sector in working groups at international, regional and national levels on Aviation Climate Change.
• Lead studies, analyses and whitepapers on environmental concerns for internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to training programs and seminars on environment issues to promote sustainability.
• Lead compliance with CORSIA requirements in international aviation as mandated by authorities.

Job description

Development Standards Leadership amp Strategy Provide a full support to the leadership to the Environment section setting clear strategic goals aligned with the Civil Aviation Authority s mission and vision This includes fostering a culture of excellence innovation and continuous improvement within the section Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders to ensure the achievement of organizational objectives This involves promoting a sense of purpose and shared commitment to the section s mission Develop and maintain the national policies and regulations internal processes and procedures related to Aviation climate change and Environment while ensuring the protection of UAE s economic growth in aviation and continuous enhancements as per the standards Maintain and lead the implementation of ICAO s Annexes- Annex 16 vol 4 as per GCAA mandate Represent the interest of UAE aviation sector in all working groups in all levels Aviation Climate Change Maintain and lead whenever it needed and and support all matters and provide all the needed support to the environment leadership related to UAE s Aviation Climate change topic including the following

• International Civil Aviation Origination ICAO
• United Nation Frame Work for Climate Change UNFCCC
• UPM office UAE Permanente Mission to ICAO
• UAE National Aviation Environment Working Group AEWG
• Any other committee related in all levels International Regional and Nationally

Environmental Studies and Analysis Support the leadership of environment in drafting of the whitepapers studies and working papers regarding environmental concerns to all internal and external stakeholders in order to gather opinions and suggestions to build up National and regional views Support the leadership of environment in all the aspects of research and studies to support environmental strategies in alignment with international aviation requirements Contribute in the Development of the training programs and seminars on environment issues to spread awareness and knowledge to ensure sustainable growth of the sector Support the leadership of environment and participate in international regional and national studies plans and policies to present and protect the interest of the aviation sector lead the compliance Carbon Offsetting and Reduction System in International Aviation CORSIA requirements as per the mandate giving by the Prime Minister Office and any other international bodies whenever its applicable
