Qualifications

Job Description: The Senior Architect role is a strategic and technical leadership position within the Architecture Chapter of Group IT. The role is responsible for designing and delivering secure, resilient, and scalable banking solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards and business strategy. The architect works closely with the Head of Architecture and delivery leaders to build high-performance mobile banking applications integrated with microservices and API-driven ecosystems. Strong experience in banking domains such as payments, settlements, accounting, and digital/mobile banking is essential. From a technical standpoint, the role requires deep expertise in end-to-end solution design, cloud-native architectures, containerization, event-driven systems, APIs, and microservices. The architect must justify design patterns and architectural trade-offs while ensuring performance, reliability, and customer experience. A major emphasis is placed on cybersecurity. The candidate must understand regulatory compliance (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, UAE Central Bank regulations), threat modeling, authentication, authorization, encryption, data protection, and security monitoring. Knowledge of how systems are attacked and defended is expected. The role also values awareness of emerging technologies such as AI, Generative AI, Large Language Models, RAG, vector databases, and AI agents. Behaviourally, the Senior Architect should demonstrate strong analytical thinking, stakeholder management, decision‑making ability, mentoring capability, and a continuous learning mindset.
