Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer with strong expertise in HVAC ducting installation and chilled water (CHW) piping systems to manage site execution, coordinate with stakeholders, ensure quality compliance, and deliver projects on time. The ideal candidate will be hands‑on with site supervision, material coordination, manpower planning, and testing & commissioning support for HVAC systems.
Key Responsibilities
Site Execution & Supervision
- Supervise and manage day‑to‑day site activities related to HVAC ductwork, CHW piping, valves, supports, and equipment installation.
- Ensure works are executed as per approved shop drawings, method statements, specifications, and project schedule.
- Coordinate site installation with other trades (Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Civil, Interiors) to avoid clashes and delays.
- Lead HVAC subcontractor teams and direct foremen for correct installation practices.
Planning & Coordination
- Prepare daily/weekly work plans, manpower deployment, and productivity targets.
- Coordinate with procurement for material submittals, deliveries, and approvals (duct accessories, insulation, hangers, valves, strainers, etc.).
- Attend coordination meetings with consultant/client and internal project teams.
Quality Control & Inspections
- Ensure compliance with HVAC installation standards and project quality requirements.
- Raise inspection requests (IR), conduct internal inspections, and coordinate consultant inspections.
- Monitor installation quality for:
- Duct fabrication and installation (GI/PI duct, flanges, sealants, access doors, etc.)
- Duct leakage control and insulation
- CHW piping alignment, welding/grooving, slope, supports, and insulation
- Valve orientation, labeling, and accessibility
Testing, Flushing & Commissioning Support
- Support CHW pressure testing, flushing, chemical cleaning (if applicable), and commissioning readiness.
- Coordinate with QA/QC and commissioning team for inspections and test records.
- Verify system readiness for T&C including balancing requirements and access provisions.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily site reports, progress updates, and technical logs.
- Prepare and submit site records such as:
- Material inspection requests (MIR)
- Inspection requests (IR)
- Method statements checklists
- Test reports (hydro test, flushing, etc.)
- Assist in preparing as‑built markups and redline drawings for ducting and piping routes.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all works are performed in compliance with HSE policies, including work permits, PPE, and safe work practices.
- Coordinate and enforce safety requirements for working at height, lifting, welding, and pressure testing.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years of HVAC site experience in UAE/GCC.
- Strong exposure to high‑rise, commercial, residential, hospitals, malls, or industrial projects.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge in:
- HVAC ducting systems installation (SMACNA standards preferred)
- Chilled water piping (carbon steel / MS / GI / pre‑insulated where applicable)
- Pipe supports, vibration isolators, hangers, and anchors
- Insulation works for duct and CHW piping (thickness, vapor barrier, cladding)
- Ability to interpret:
- HVAC shop drawings, schematic diagrams, P&IDs, coordination drawings
- BOQ and specifications
- Familiar with HVAC testing requirements (pressure testing, flushing, balancing support)
- Good understanding of materials such as:
- Motorized valves, PICVs (if applicable), balancing valves, strainers, flexible connectors
- Duct dampers (VCD, FD), diffusers/grilles, volume control accessories
Software Skills
- AutoCAD (basic understanding for markups)
- MS Office (Excel, Word reporting)
- Any project software (Primavera / MS Project) is an advantage
