Job summary

Arqaam Capital is seeking an experienced risk professional in Dubai to identify, measure and monitor financial risks across credit, market, liquidity, and operations. You will serve as an ORM SME, implementing risk measurement, reporting and program rollout with strong regulatory knowledge.

The role requires 5 years in risk management within banks or regulated environments, plus hands-on experience in finance disciplines and familiarity with Bloomberg and portfolio systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field; a master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, CFA, PRM) is an advantage.
• Approximately 5 years of relevant experience in risk management, treasury, audit, or a related control function within a bank, financial institution, or comparable regulated environment.
• Sound understanding of risk management principles and frameworks, including market, credit, liquidity, and operational risk.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate the likelihood and impact of potential financial risks on the organization including credit, market, liquidity, operational and regulatory risks.
• Operational Risk Management SME: Good understanding of risk measurement, reporting, tracking and programme roll-out of ORM; solid regulatory expertise; with at least 3 years’ experience of hands-on ORM.
• Interpret and quantify regulatory guidelines, investment restrictions.
• Working knowledge of risk measurement, quantitative techniques, policy, regulations, benchmarking to best practice, risk control/reporting/MI, risk technology, risk analytics, credit analysis, project management especially change management and advanced IT proficiency skills i.e. Microsoft tools (Excel, word, Power point), Bloomberg, any portfolio management systems (preferably Broadridge). Working knowledge of VBA, Power BI, SQL, Python etc will add value.
• Having worked for a capital market, asset management, trading firm with good knowledge of industry and regulatory standards.
• Product knowledge: Asset Management (equities and fixed income), equity and credit trading, FX, derivatives and funding/treasury products. Demonstrate product knowledge by illustration settlement process and trade lifecycle.
• Exhibit the right behaviors: take personal responsibility for directly influencing the risk culture (e.g. 3LOD framework) of the firm, increasing transparency and team-linking.
• Strong academic background: undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in finance or related disciplines. Professional qualifications or technical certifications will be advantageous.
