Job Description

Senior Quantity Surveyor Abu Dhabi

In this role The Senior Quantity Surveyor (SR. QS) is part of the Project Management team and will be providing all necessary assistance to the construction supervision team with respect to all financial aspects and contractual matters in the project. He/she will be responsible for review and certification of interim payments, project variations and other financial matters. The Sr. QS will carry out analysis and evaluation of all contractors claims by the Contractor and other contractual matters.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Participate in all commercial meetings as required.
  • Will ensure prompt submittal and completeness of Contractors monthly payment applications and finalize the payment certificates, performing, and checking of measurement of Work for a) Interim Payments, b) Work executed against Provisional Sums and c) Variations.
  • Maintain and streamline all cost and quantity records.
  • Undertake measurement procedures and calculation of interim and final quantities in consultation with Sr. Contract manager.
  • Evaluate the unit rates for new work items, recording the details and monitoring the day works process, assisting in preparing variation orders and in evaluating claims and present to the Sr. Contracts Manager for review.
  • Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of entitlement of Contractors claims for review and issuance by the Sr. Contracts Manager.
  • Ensure completeness and validity of all contractual requirements.
  • Preparation of financial statements for monthly report.
  • Auditing of payments to Contractors as required.
  • Check and record measurements of completed work.
  • Monitor contract final cost estimate.
  • Preparation of Final Account with all supporting documents.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or civil engineering
  • 10 years demonstrable experience in Quantity Surveying on buildings, roads, highways, and general infrastructure projects preferably in the Gulf region.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring
  • Must have a sound knowledge about contractual relationships.
  • Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.
  • Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Standard Methods of Measurement
  • Should be a chartered quantity surveyor i.e. MRICS.
