Job summary

Latinem is seeking a Quality Engineer to plan, implement, and maintain QA/QC activities across manufacturing processes in Dubai. The role ensures products meet specifications and customer requirements while driving continuous improvement and defect reduction.

The incumbent will lead CAPA, PFMEA, control plans, and process capability studies, oversee supplier quality, and support internal audits against ISO 9001 / IATF 16949.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 6–10 years of progressive experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001; IATF 16949 or AS9100 experience preferred depending on industry.
  • Proficient in core quality tools: PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, PPAP/APQP, 8D, Root Cause Analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with inspection equipment (CMM, calipers, gauges) and reading engineering drawings/GD&T.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt certification is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and quality data analysis; exposure to Minitab or similar statistical software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality plans, control plans, and inspection procedures for new and existing products/processes.
  • Lead root cause analysis and CAPA for internal, supplier, and customer quality issues using 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone.
  • Prepare and maintain PFMEA, Control Plans, and process capability studies (Cpk/Ppk) for critical characteristics.
  • Conduct in-process, incoming, and final inspections; review non-conformances and drive disposition through MRB.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance, conduct supplier audits, and support supplier development and PPAP/APQP submissions.
  • Drive internal audits against ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 or AS9100 standards.
  • Analyze quality KPIs and present findings to management with improvement action plans.
  • Lead or support Six Sigma / Lean / Kaizen initiatives to reduce variation and waste.
  • Coordinate with design, manufacturing, and supply chain to resolve quality issues and support NPI.
  • Maintain calibration schedules and ensure MSA/Gage R&R for critical gauges.

Job Purpose

To plan, implement, and maintain quality assurance and quality control activities across manufacturing processes, ensuring
products conform to specifications, customer requirements, and applicable industry/quality standards, while driving
continuous improvement and defect reduction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality plans, control plans, and inspection procedures for new and existing
    products/processes.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) for internal, supplier, and customer quality issues
    using tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone.
  • Prepare and maintain PFMEA, Control Plans, and process capability studies (Cpk/Ppk) for critical characteristics.
  • Conduct in-process, incoming, and final inspections; review non-conformances and drive disposition through MRB
    (Material Review Board).
  • Monitor supplier quality performance, conduct supplier audits, and support supplier development and PPAP/APQP

  • Coordinate with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and support new product
    introduction (NPI).
  • Maintain calibration schedules and ensure measurement systems analysis (MSA/Gage R&R) is performed for critical
    gauges.
  • Train and mentor junior quality engineers/technicians and promote a quality-first culture on the shop floor.
  • Ensure documentation control, traceability, and compliance with customer-specific requirements and regulatory
    standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 610 years of progressive experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001; IATF 16949 or AS9100 experience preferred depending on industry.
