Job summary

Lootah Lemmens, a UAE-based engineering and manufacturing company specialised in overhead cranes, gantry cranes and customised lifting solutions, is seeking a Senior Project Manager with a strong technical background in crane construction.

You will take full responsibility for crane projects from order handover to final delivery, coordinating between customer, engineering, procurement, production, installation, and third‑party inspection authorities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in crane construction or heavy industrial project execution.
• Senior-level experience managing overhead crane or material handling projects.
• Strong ability to read and understand technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Experience with budgeting, cost control and contract management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Experience in the UAE or GCC crane industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage overhead crane, gantry crane and customised lifting projects from order intake to final handover.
• Review contracts, technical specifications, drawings and customer requirements.
• Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets and execution plans.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, production, installation, testing and commissioning activities.
• Act as the main point of contact for customers throughout the project.
• Organise project kick-off meetings, progress meetings and technical coordination meetings.
• Monitor project costs, margins, cash flow, invoicing milestones and variations.
• Identify project risks, delays and technical issues at an early stage and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure that projects are executed according to agreed specifications, quality standards and delivery dates.
• Coordinate factory acceptance testing, load testing and third‑party inspections.
• Manage subcontractors and site teams during installation and commissioning.
• Control changes in project scope and prepare technical and commercial variation claims.
• Ensure complete project documentation, including drawings, calculations, inspection reports, manuals and handover documents.
• Provide regular project progress reports to management.
• Support continuous improvement of project management procedures and project execution standards.

From engineering and production to installation, testing and commissioning, our crane projects are executed through our own organisation. To support our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong technical background in crane construction.

The Role

As Senior Project Manager, you will have full responsibility for the successful execution of crane projects from order handover until final delivery and project close-out.

You will manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate all activities between the customer, engineering, procurement, production, installation teams, subcontractors and third‑party inspection authorities.

The role requires strong technical crane knowledge, commercial awareness and the ability to control project scope, planning, budget, quality and customer expectations.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in crane construction, lifting equipment or heavy industrial project execution.
• Proven senior‑level experience managing overhead crane or material handling projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of crane structures, hoists, electrical systems, controls and installation methods.
• Experience with double girder cranes, single girder cranes, gantry cranes and customised lifting solutions.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
• Strong experience in project planning, budgeting, cost control and contract management.
• Experience managing customers, suppliers, production teams and site activities.
• Good understanding of quality inspections, load testing and commissioning.
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Commercially aware and capable of protecting project margins.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Experience in the UAE or GCC crane industry is strongly preferred.
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
