Job summary

Arcsen in Dubai, UAE is seeking an experienced Senior Software Project Manager to oversee planning, execution and delivery of complex software development initiatives on-site. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and ensure projects meet scope, schedule and quality targets.

The ideal candidate has 6–10 years in software project management, strong leadership, and familiarity with Agile, Scrum and Waterfall. PMP or PRINCE2 certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; MSc/MBA preferred.
• 6–10 years of software project management experience delivering complex software
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall and PM tools (Jira, MS Project)
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills; PMP/PRINCE2 preferred

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Project Manager to join our team in Dubai UAE on a full-time on-site renewable contract. In this role you will oversee the planning implementation and tracking of software development projects from initiation to completion. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise and a deep understanding of software development methodologies. The Senior Software Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders and clients to deliver high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Management: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation plans to track progress and ensure timely completion of projects
• Team Leadership: Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and testers to achieve project objectives
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior project managers and team members fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment
• Risk Management: Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, develop contingency plans as necessary to mitigate risks, proactively anticipate potential problems and take corrective action to ensure successful project delivery
• Communication and Stakeholder Management: Communicate project status updates and risks to stakeholders, including senior management and clients through regular meetings and reports; manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with project goals and objectives
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that software development processes and deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to best practices, conduct thorough testing and validation of software releases to ensure functionality, usability and performance
• Budget and Resource Management: (a) Monitor project budgets, expenses and resource utilization, track project costs and ensure adherence to financial constraints; (b) Optimize resource allocation and utilization to maximize productivity and efficiency across projects
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness; stay updated on industry trends, technologies and methodologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
• 6-10 years of experience in software project management, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex software development projects from initiation to completion.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and their application in different project scenarios.
• Experience with project management tools and software (e.g., JIRA, Microsoft Project) and proficiency in project management methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is preferred.
• Experience in the software industry, particularly in developing and delivering software solutions for enterprise or consumer markets, is advantageous.
