Key objectives for this role

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Undertake process design work of units, supervise and check works of assigned engineers.
- Execute process engineering activities within budget and schedule while maintaining technical integrity.
- Ensure design methods, standards and data conform to client requirements or issued guidelines.
- Check or approve basis of design, process calculations and safety‑related calculations.
- Review and approve PFDs, P&IDs, PSFS, DPTDs, equipment & instrument specifications, process descriptions, cause & effect charts.
- Review and approve dynamic simulation study, transient study, surge study and MDMT study.
- Review and approve depressurization studies, flare load estimation and flare system design.
- Maintain high safety standards and follow environmental and QA procedures.
- Provide input to HAZOP, SIL and other safety reviews.
- Identify new methodology for higher productivity.
- Contribute to supplier quotation review.
- Comply with Licensor's Secrecy Agreements.
- Participate in technical meetings and discuss with client engineers.
- Report issues impeding project progress to Project Managers, Engineering Manager or Discipline heads.
- Mentor and support junior engineers.
- Assist in preparation of planning, scheduling and weekly reporting.
- Assist in pre‑commissioning, commissioning procedures and operating manuals.
- Assist in man‑hours estimation and scheduling for proposals.
Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent with at least eight (8) years of relevant offshore/onshore experience, including five (5) years in the GCC region.
- Minimum five (5) years in a similar senior process engineering position on mega oil & gas or petrochemical projects.
- Proficient in process simulation tools such as HYSYS, Flare System Analyzer, PipeNet, Pipesim, OLGA etc. and a subject‑matter expert.
- Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
- Experience in a multi‑project, multi‑discipline environment across all engineering phases.
- Prior experience in the Middle East considered an advantage.
