Worley Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead process design for complex oil and gas projects in the region. You will drive technically robust solutions, supervise designers, and ensure compliance with ADNOC VIP/VAP and API standards.

The role requires extensive experience in feasibility, conceptual engineering, and pipeline modeling, with strong communication skills and the ability to travel to sites as needed. You will report to the Senior Manager, Process Engineering.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 12 years' experience in process design for oil and gas.
  • Experience with HYSYS, PROII, OLGA and pipeline modelling.
  • Chartered engineer status or equivalent is advantageous.

Technical Competency
  • Ensures team member adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
  • Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful.
  • Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence.
  • Supports checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings.
  • Technical supervision of project designated process designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duty.
  • Preparation /checking of Specifications, data sheets.
  • Performance of bid evaluation and vendor document review and approval.
  • Technical writing activities, in particular, production of technical reports and operating manuals.
  • Manage studies and process-orientated projects as assigned.
Project Execution
  • Knows the project and discipline scope/cost/time requirements, assists the team to meet expectations, and coordinates with other disciplines to ensure project success.
  • Implements innovative solutions, technology advances, and methods to effectively deal with working out of sequence.
  • Supports Lead Engineer in monitoring quality activities and takes action where required.
  • Assist Project Team in project documentation such as proposals, estimates, budgets and schedules
  • Manage process design and any design changes within budget and schedule.
  • Prepare and participate in weekly process discipline meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures.
  • Review and approve all related technical documents and coordinate with the Lead Engineer.
  • Management, technical execution and completion of engineering assigned tasks in a specific process discipline area.
  • Execute verification, studies and detail design following best engineering practices and optimization in term of cost, construction simplicity, operability and maintainability, HSSE.
  • Gathers data from multiple sources and prepares engineering studies, analyses, calculations.
  • Determines technical issues, defines alternate solutions, establishes pros/cons for multiple solutions, and makes recommendations through official project documents such as technical queries, technical deviations, etc.
  • Creates final documentation incorporating all relevant information and pursues customer approval.
  • Reviews documentation to assist others and reviews/authorizes work done by direct reports.
  • Evaluate new technology advancements against existing design standards and revise where applicable.
  • Identify and review new technology development which could be applicable in providing more cost-effective facilities.
  • Perform discipline specific engineering services such as:
    • Identify and report changes to project scope;
    • Contribute to appropriate studies, analyses and recommend actions;
    • Assist with the preparation of detailed designs and drawings,
    • specifications, data, calculations and reports;
  • Provide assistance during procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
  • Assisting the project engineers in the co-ordination and preparation of input into the contract documents for each discipline area, including design criteria, scope of work, procedures and design approach.
  • Liaison and co-ordination with other engineers and discipline groups on the contract to effect timely production of deliverables.
Procurement Support
  • Incorporates information from multiple sources into equipment/material specifications, data sheets, testing requirements, and material requisitions.
  • Reviews similar documentation to assist others and reviews/authorises work done by direct reports.
Site Support
  • Seeks input from knowledgeable sources, participates in constructability, operability, and maintainability reviews, and ensures that requirements are incorporated into engineering/design.
  • Create plans or documents that supports construction, testing, commissioning, operations, maintenance, or decommissioning.
Quality Assurance
  • Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.
Safety
  • Responsible for personal safety safe working practices. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
  • Promoting health, safety and environmental awareness.
Job Specific Knowledge
  • Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to HSE management and its associated requirements in a project environment
  • Extensive knowledge of ADNOC VIP / VAP Assurance processes, API Standards (API-520, API-521, API-14C, API-14E) and statutory and regulatory requirements and a good understanding of onshore and offshore engineering practices applicable to process design for offshore oil and gas facilities.
  • Experience in various phases of project life cycle with particular skills in Feasibility and Conceptual Engineering, field development and adequacy studies.
  • Experience in processing of highly sour production fluids with extensive offshore engineering experience. Site experience is an advantage and willingness to travel to site and work in an operation support environment is essential.
  • Experience of Option Selection Studies, debottlenecking and revamp projects and licensor packages
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of process simulation packages such as HYSYS, PROII, Flarenet. HTRI, Experience with dynamic simulation packages will be an advantage.
  • Extensive experience in pipeline modeling using OLGA, Pipesim, pipeline studio, Pipephase, Pipenet is an advantage.
Industry Specific Experience
  • Minimum 12 years of process design in onshore/offshore oil & gas industry for Greenfield and Brownfield Projects, Experience in Ammonia and Hydrogen Plants and Refinery Processes would be an advantage
  • Experience of Field Development, Option Selection Studies, debottlenecking and revamp projects would be an advantage.
  • Extensive Process Simulation for Plant and Pipelines is essential.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
  • Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage.
