Job summary

D4 Insight seeks a Senior Platform Engineer in Abu Dhabi to design, build, and scale the Azure AI Platform as an enterprise product. You will focus on AI service operationalization, security, and reusable platform components for a large financial enterprise.

Responsibilities include defining platform boundaries, deployment of modular Azure capabilities, and self-service provisioning through GitHub Actions. Deep expertise in AKS, OpenAI, and API management is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Azure-based platform engineering experience.
• Strong Terraform and GitHub Actions with modular design and automated tests.
• Familiarity with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI Service, and AI service operationalization.

• Architect and deploy production-ready Azure AI platform capabilities.
• Define platform boundaries, service contracts, tenancy, scaling, and secure integration standards.
• Build shared AI services by standardizing access to Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Document Intelligence, and orchestration patterns.
• Provide self-service provisioning via platform APIs and GitHub Actions.
• Manage APIs using Azure API Management or Kong and ensure secure, observable runtimes on AKS and container apps.

Role Overview

We are looking for Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, scale, and evolve the Azure AI Platform as a reusable enterprise product.

The role focuses on building cloud-native platform capabilities and hybrid-cloud ecosystems for a large financial enterprise, with particular emphasis on AI service operationalization, security, reusable platform products, and automated infrastructure controls.

Key Responsibilities

Azure AI Platform Engineering

• Architect and deploy production-ready modular Azure AI platform capabilities.
• Define platform boundaries, service contracts, tenancy patterns, scaling models, and secure integration standards.
• Build shared AI service capabilities by standardizing access to:
• Azure OpenAI
• Azure AI Search
• Document Intelligence
• Agent and tool orchestration patterns

Infrastructure as Code & Automation

• Standardize application consumption through APIs, SDKs, templates, and reference implementations.
• Define reusable Terraform modules and templatized infrastructure patterns.
• Build standardized network, identity, security, tagging, and observability capabilities into infrastructure provisioning.
• Implement policy-as-code and automated validation for naming, approved SKUs, network isolation, and compliance.

Platform Operations

• Provide self-service provisioning through GitHub Actions or platform APIs.
• Establish reusable platform patterns, release management, documentation, and onboarding journeys.
• Engineer production runtimes on AKS and Azure Container Apps for APIs, agents, MCP servers, and asynchronous workloads.
• Manage API lifecycles using Azure API Management and Kong.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience with the Azure Cloud Platform.
• Strong expertise in Terraform and GitHub Actions, including modular design, automated testing, and controlled promotion.
• Familiarity with Azure AI Foundry and Azure OpenAI Service.
• Expert knowledge of network architecture including:
